About our Staff

All of our personal trainers are nationally certified and have obtained their CPR. Our staff includes individuals of varying age, background and interests.  They are available with a variety of expertise, educational background and certification. Choose your own trainer based on their expertise, experience and availability or contact Fit Family at (330) 793-4466 to help select a trainer based on your needs and goals.  Personal training sessions are available by appointment only.  This allows you to work with a trainer who is compatible with you!

 

Doris Bullock

Doris graduated from Hiram College with a B.S. in Communications and major in Exercise Science at YSU.  She holds certifications in Integrated Fitness Counseling, Group Fitness Instructor, Pilates, and Personal Training.  Her certifications are through STOTT PILATES®, RealRyder Cycling, ESA, FITOUR, ISCA, IFTA, NDEITA, ISSA, AFAA.  She has various certifications of continuing education in Exercise and Pregnancy, Yoga, Stretch-Flex, Step, Training Senior Adults, Cycling and Aerobics.  Doris is also a member of ACSM, AFAA, IDEA Health & Fitness Association and she has over 20 years of experience in field of fitness.  If you want a customized workout please call and schedule an appointment.

He also received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from the University of Hiram.  John has over thirty years of experience in Sales, Purchasing and Management.  He is certified in RealRyder Cycling, covers Fit Woman & Family Co-ed Hours, and maintains all of the computers at Fit Family.

Elaine is our Fit Family Office Manager.  She is also certified in Real Ryder Cycling.  She takes upon herself the duty of making everything function correctly within the office area.  Elaine takes pride in her work.  She assist with operational duties: including distributing material, checking data, creating reports and tracking and monitoring various data.

Pam attended Youngstown State University and has over 20 years of experience in aerobics and resistance training.  She holds numerous certifications in fitness.  Pam has the ability to make everyone feel like they have a friend.  In Pam’s class she encourages her ladies to get to know each other, by doing so you can always find smiles and laughter coming out of her classes.  Pam stated that fun is one of the most important elements in working out.  So if you are looking for classes that will make you smile, you can find it with Pam.  Pam is known as Mrs. Smiley and her husband is Mr. Honey.

Jennifer is a certified group and Real Ryder Cycling Instructor.  She teaches the Crossover Ride on Thursday.   This class will cross you over from a traditional stationary bike to the new Real Ryder bike.  Jennifer will include jumps, turns, climbs and fast races that will surely help you to grow as a cyclist.

Over the past several years I have been studying and learning as much as I can about fitness and now it is my job and a big part of my life.  I owe a big Thank-You to my boyfriend, my parents and sister for all of their support with my decision to get involved in the fitness field.

Maria Stan

Maria has a Bachelors degree from Youngstown State University and she is currently in charge of the Criminal Division for Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.  She has been in the fitness industry for the past 13 years and holds several nationally recognized certifications in Personal Training, Group Fitness Instruction, Resist-A-Ball Training and Yoga/Tai Chi.  Maria is also a certified Postural Analyst and has her Water Aerobics certification.  She continually attends seminars, classes, anything that is available to keep her current on new techniques.  Maria will design and implement a customized program, including weight training, cardio conditioning, stretching, and injury prevention, everything needed to meet your specific goals.  She will monitor your progress through body fat testing, heart rate levels, strength and stretching tests.  Maria stated that her greatest reward is watching the transformation in her clients, not only physically by mentally.  When you train with Maria you will achieve your ultimate fitness goals by creating new and lasting habits.  She stated that nothing beats being and feeling healthy – it is wonderful motivation!  If you want a customized workout or refresh your routine, please call and schedule an appointment.

Joy is a certified AFAA Personal Trainer, Group Fitness, Spinning and YogaFit instructor.  She has been teaching group fitness classes for over 11 years.  Joy has a Bachelors of Specialized Studies, in music and recreation from Ohio University and a Masters of Education in Recreation Management from the University of Georgia.  Joy is the Fitness Director for the Department of Recreational Services at Youngstown State University.  She is married to her high school sweetheart, Jerry and they have little girl Megan.  Joy is known for her “GI Jane Boot Camp Circuit” class.  If you ever fancy yourself as GI Jane...try Joy’s boot camp class, which is based on an army style workout.  She combines cardiovascular interval training with resistance and bodyweight exercises such as push-ups, sit-ups and squats.  Sergeant Joy will give you a workout that you will not forget.

She continues to educate herself to improve her skills to get the best and most recent developments and performances out there.
